What's worse than bad sequels, bad knockoff movies, and bad kids' movies? How about something that's all of the above? Here's the movie that sank Filmation, Happily Ever After!
Located on a small expansion shelf about midway between the Third and Fourth Circles, Musical Hell is presided over by Diva, a minor demon charged with passing judgement on the worst musicals ever committed to film. (She still hasn't figured out if this is their punishment or hers.) Take a seat on the bench and have your earplugs ready, because court is now in session.

Ever since I was a little kid watching her on The Love Boat, Carol Channing has been an object of terror for me. Was there ever a time when she was considered attractive? Like, back when she was in Hello Dolly or something? It's that baby-doll voice.ReplyDelete
And Dom Deluise and Phyllis Diller, geez, they were sure scraping the bottom of the barrel for this one.
Honestly, you're asking the wrong person--I've never been a fan of Channing's voice, even in her younger days. It always feels like she's working extra hard to get the words past her teeth.Delete
