Located on a small expansion shelf about midway between the Third and Fourth Circles, Musical Hell is presided over by Diva, a minor demon charged with passing judgement on the worst musicals ever committed to film. (She still hasn't figured out if this is their punishment or hers.) Take a seat on the bench and have your earplugs ready, because court is now in session.

Musical Hell: The Lion King (2019)

Here's something to distract you from your pre-election anxiety: me spending eighteen minutes wondering why the "live-action" adaptation of The Lion King is a thing!

  1. Diva, you've done it again!

With the 100th episode of "Musical Hell" coming up soon, have you decided how to celebrate?

Being the big fan of yours that I am, I'd love to recommend a review (roast, if you prefer) of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Once More, with Feeling" (Season 6,
Episode 7). In my book, any BTVS episode that spawns its own soundtrack album deserves a day in your Infernal Court...!

...As does the pilot episode of Steven Bochco's infamous misfire "Cop Rock"; you tell ME how Greg Hoblit, of "Fallen" fame, wound up directing junk like this. Maybe he was just doing the ABC network an enormous favor.

In any event, Stay Safe & Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours! Also, thanks to YOU for the gift of Musical Hell!

P.S. If it's not on your list already, there's another musical I'd love to see dragged before the Infernal Court. That one is "7th Heaven: Red Socks" (#192, Season 9, Episode 15). While I'm as fond of Martha Plimpton as the next fellow, I gotta wonder how many drugs she was on while writing this one. Let's just say it's not exactly worthy of the name "Carradine"!
